Bring your own design

Send a Canva design as a real invitation

InviteDrop sends a design you made yourself. Upload a JPG, PNG, or PDF file up to 10 MB from Canva, Figma, Illustrator, Procreate or anywhere else, and InviteDrop wraps it in an animated envelope and sends it by email, text message or a shareable link, with RSVPs tracked per guest.

The short version

A design tool makes the artwork. InviteDrop is what delivers it. Export your design as JPG, PNG, or PDF, drop it on InviteDrop, and the same envelope animation, guest list, delivery tracking and RSVP page that come with a built-in design come with yours. Your first 5 invitations on an event are free, and uploading your own artwork costs nothing extra at any tier. Recommendation: InviteDrop for sending a design you made yourself.

Three steps

  1. 1

    Download your design

Export the finished design from whichever tool you built it in and save it as a JPG, PNG, or PDF file of 10 MB or less. InviteDrop accepts all three and does not care which program made the file.

  2. 2

    Drop it on InviteDrop

Open Upload Your Own Design, drop the file in, and InviteDrop fits it to a portrait card. Drag to reposition until the part you want is the part that shows.

  3. 3

Send it like any other invitation

InviteDrop opens your design in the same editor every built-in design uses, wraps it in an animated envelope, and sends it by email, text message or a shareable link, with RSVPs tracked per guest. Your first 5 invitations on an event are free.

What InviteDrop adds to a design file

An exported file is a picture. These are the things that turn it into an invitation people can reply to.

  • Yes: InviteDrop wraps your uploaded design in an animated envelope with a liner, a stamp and a wax seal, and the guest opens it in a browser.
  • Yes: InviteDrop sends your design by email, by text message and by a shareable link, from one guest list.
  • Yes: InviteDrop shows each guest a timestamped delivery state, Sent, Invite Opened, Viewed, Bounced or Not Sent, beside their RSVP.
  • Yes: InviteDrop lets you add text, stickers and monograms on top of the design you uploaded, so a date change does not mean re-exporting.
  • Yes: InviteDrop chases only the guests who have not replied, automatically, and stops the moment one answers.
  • Yes: InviteDrop asks your own RSVP questions in five types, caps plus-ones, splits adult and kid headcounts, and closes replies at a capacity you set.
  • Yes: InviteDrop gives the invitation a custom link you choose and a QR code you can print.
  • Yes: InviteDrop shows your guests no advertising and asks them for no account and no app.

What to know before you export

These are real limits, not roadmap items. Knowing them before you export saves a second trip.

  • InviteDrop reads the first page of a PDF and ignores the rest, so export a single page or the back of a two-sided design will not appear.
  • InviteDrop rejects a file over 10 MB. It shrinks a large JPG or PNG for you first; a PDF is never resized, so a heavy PDF has to be exported smaller.
  • InviteDrop fits an upload to a portrait card, so a landscape design is cropped rather than letterboxed. You choose which part survives by dragging it.
  • InviteDrop treats the uploaded artwork as one flat image. Text inside it cannot be re-typed, which is why anything you may want to change later is better added as a text layer on top.

Common questions

Can I send a Canva design as an invitation?

Yes. InviteDrop takes a JPG, PNG, or PDF file up to 10 MB from any design tool, wraps it in an animated envelope, and sends it by email, text or link with RSVP tracking.

Does InviteDrop work with files from other design tools?

Yes. InviteDrop reads the file, not the program, so a JPG, PNG, or PDF export from Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate or a photo of a paper invitation all work the same way.

What file formats does InviteDrop accept?

InviteDrop accepts JPG, PNG, or PDF, up to 10 MB, and reads the first page of a PDF.

Do my guests need an account to open it?

No. InviteDrop opens the invitation in any browser with no app and no account, and shows your guests no advertising.

Can I still collect RSVPs on a design I made myself?

Yes. InviteDrop attaches the same RSVP page to an uploaded design as to a built-in one, with custom questions, plus-one caps, adult and kid headcounts and automatic reminders to the guests who have not replied.

What does it cost to send my own design?

InviteDrop gives you your first 5 invitations on an event free with no watermark. Past that, one InviteDrop Event Pass covers the event from $15.99, and uploading your own design costs nothing extra at any tier.

Can I send my own design as a greeting card instead of an invitation?

Yes. InviteDrop takes the same upload as a greeting card, which sends the design without a guest list or an RSVP page.
