Everything InviteDrop does,
grouped by the job it does
InviteDrop designs the card, addresses the envelope, sends it by email, text or link, and tracks every reply per guest. This is the full list, in the words the product itself uses, ending with the five things InviteDrop does not do.
The short version
InviteDrop covers eight jobs on one event: design the card and its envelope in a full editor, build the guest list by upload, paste, address book or household, send by email, text or shareable link, track per-guest delivery and RSVP status live, chase the non-responders with four automatic reminders, publish an event page from 13 blocks, run the day with a seating plan and a shared photo album, and hand the whole thing to a co-host. All of it is included on every event at every tier, including the 5 free invitations each event starts with. An Event Pass buys guest count, not features. The seating plan is the one paid add-on.
Designing the invitation
A design opens in an editor, not a preview.
- InviteDrop opens every design with each element live: drag it, resize it from eight handles, rotate it, recolour it, retype it.
- InviteDrop ships the card, envelope, liner, stamp and backdrop as one design: 121 envelope papers, 257 liners, 181 stamps and 403 backdrops.
- InviteDrop sets type from 40 card fonts and 20 addressing fonts, or from a font file you upload yourself.
- InviteDrop places any of 122 stickers, your own logo, and your own photos, which you drag and zoom inside the card.
- InviteDrop also takes a design you made elsewhere, up to 10 MB, and wraps it in the same envelope, delivery and RSVP tracking.
- InviteDrop writes each guest their own envelope, with their name handwritten on the front and an optional line for their city.
Building the guest list
Four ways in.
- InviteDrop imports a spreadsheet through the Upload (.csv, .xlsx) button, reading a real Excel file and not only a CSV.
- InviteDrop hands you the columns first: Download template gives Download CSV (.csv) or Download Excel (.xlsx).
- InviteDrop reads a list off your clipboard with Paste a list.
- InviteDrop skips guests already on the list when you import, and says how many it skipped.
- InviteDrop keeps an Address Book across your events, so a returning guest is one tap.
- InviteDrop groups a family into a household with a Household Name and a Total Invited count, so one invitation covers them all.
- InviteDrop carries a Personal message per guest, written into their invitation and nobody else’s.
Sending it
Three channels, one list.
- InviteDrop sends by email, by text message, and by a shareable link you can post anywhere.
- InviteDrop gives the invitation a Custom URL you pick: invitedrop.com/i/your-own-words.
- InviteDrop turns that link into a QR code you download as a PNG and print.
- InviteDrop queues a send for later with Set a schedule to send later, in your chosen timezone, cancellable while queued.
- InviteDrop sends a test copy to your own inbox first, with Send Test to Me.
- Your guests need no app and no account: the link opens a sealed envelope in any browser, with no advertising on it.
Tracking the replies
The tab is called Track RSVPs, and it is on every event.
- InviteDrop shows each guest a timestamped delivery state, Sent, Invite Opened, Viewed, Bounced or Not Sent, beside an RSVP status of RSVP’d Yes, Maybe, Declined or Awaiting Reply.
- InviteDrop counts plus-ones into the headcount and caps them with Max plus-ones per guest.
- InviteDrop splits the headcount with Collect adult & kid headcount.
- InviteDrop asks your own RSVP questions in five types: Free text, Multiple choice, Checkboxes, Dropdown and Poll.
- InviteDrop closes RSVPs at a ceiling you set: Max capacity blocks new replies once that many guests are attending.
- InviteDrop stops replies at an RSVP deadline, and can show guests who else is attending.
- InviteDrop hands the list back with Export CSV: delivery states, plus-ones and every custom answer.
Chasing the guests who have not replied
Four switches, each skipping a guest who already answered.
- InviteDrop emails Auto-RSVP reminders to the non-responders on your chosen interval, and stops the moment a guest answers.
- InviteDrop can Auto-resend to unopened after 2, 3, 5 or 7 days, which answers an invitation that landed in spam.
- InviteDrop sends an Event-day reminder so the people who said yes turn up.
- InviteDrop queues a reminder you write, by email or text, to Not responded, All guests, Accepted or Declined.
- On an event still using only its 5 free invitations, InviteDrop caps reminders at five messages in total; an Event Pass lifts that along with the guest limit.
The event page your guests land on
Behind the invitation sits a full event page.
- InviteDrop offers 13 event-page blocks: Text / Story, Gift Registry, Photos, Schedule, Accommodations, Directions, Details, Travel, People, FAQ, File Attachments, Potluck / What to Bring, Photo Album.
- Gift Registry takes registry links, donation funds and a wish list guests reserve from, so two people do not buy the same thing.
- Potluck / What to Bring is a sign-up list your guests claim items from.
- InviteDrop puts the date, time and address on the invitation, with one tap to add it to a calendar and one for directions.
- InviteDrop can open a Guestbook for messages on the event page, which you read or remove.
Running the day, and the week after
- InviteDrop builds a Seating plan from the same guest list, arranges the tables to start from, and prints or exports the chart. It is a paid add-on.
- InviteDrop opens a Photo Album on the same invitation link afterwards, so guests add their own photos.
- InviteDrop keeps a Reminders & messages log of everything sent after the invitation, and everything still queued.
Sharing the hosting
Add co-hosts is a button on your guest list, not an enterprise upgrade.
- InviteDrop takes one co-host per event, invited by email, who signs in with their own InviteDrop login rather than your password.
- A co-host can Track guests, Add and remove guests, Send invitations and reminders, and Track RSVPs.
- InviteDrop lets you remove a co-host at any time.
And five things InviteDrop does not do
These are real gaps, not roadmap items. If one of them is what you need, InviteDrop is the wrong tool.
- InviteDrop has no door check-in. There is a QR code for the link, but nothing scans a guest in on arrival.
- InviteDrop has no password on an invitation. A private, unguessable link is the whole of the protection.
- InviteDrop does not sync a guest list to a CRM. Import and export are files.
- InviteDrop sends the invitation itself in English only. Our marketing pages are translated into five languages; the invitation is not.
- InviteDrop does not ask guests for a meal choice. The seating plan can read a meal field, but nothing on the RSVP form fills it in.
Common questions
Can I co-host an event?
Yes. InviteDrop takes one co-host per event, added from the Add co-hosts button, who can track guests, add and remove them, send invitations and reminders, and export the RSVPs under their own login.
Can I import a guest list from a spreadsheet?
Yes. InviteDrop imports both CSV and Excel files through the Upload (.csv, .xlsx) button, hands you a matching template first, and skips anyone already on the list.
Can I limit how many guests can say yes?
Yes. InviteDrop blocks new RSVPs once your Max capacity is reached, and separately stops replies at an RSVP deadline.
Can I schedule an invitation to go out later?
Yes. InviteDrop queues the send for a date and time in the timezone you choose, for the whole list or just the guests you picked, and you can cancel it while it is queued.
Does InviteDrop do check-in at the door?
No. InviteDrop gives you a QR code for the invitation link, but nothing scans guests in on arrival, so if door check-in is what you need this is not the tool.
Can I ask guests my own questions?
Yes. InviteDrop takes as many custom RSVP questions as you need, in five types, and attaches every answer to the guest who gave it.
Which features cost extra?
InviteDrop includes everything above at every tier, including the 5 free invitations each event starts with. An Event Pass buys guest count, not features, and the seating plan is the one paid add-on.
Prices are on our pricing page, the dashboard has its own page at RSVP tracking, and the platform-by-platform grid is on the comparison hub.
